This policy explains what personal information Glazed Co Pty Ltd (ABN 91 622 010 039), trading as Glazed Co., collects through glazedco.com.au and when you contact us, why we collect it, who we share it with, and how you can access or correct it. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles in the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
What we collect
When you send an enquiry. Your name, phone number, email address, the site address for your project, the type of work you’re interested in, your timeframe, how you heard about us, the name of anyone who referred you, and anything you write in your message. If you attach plans, drawings or photos, we keep those files too.
When you browse the website. We record how the website is used: the pages you view, the buttons and links you click, how far you scroll, how long you stay, the type of device and browser you use, and your approximate location (city and country, worked out from your internet connection). This information isn’t linked to your name unless you send us an enquiry.
Where you came from. When you arrive, the website notes how you found us: for example, a Google search, an ad, a social media post or a link on another website. It keeps this in your own browser for up to 90 days, so that if you send an enquiry later we know what first brought you to us. It doesn’t include anything you typed into a search engine.
When you deal with us directly. Details you give us by phone, email or on site, and the details needed to quote, install and invoice your project.
We don’t ask for sensitive information, and we don’t need your date of birth, identity documents or payment card details through the website.
Why we collect it
- To respond to your enquiry, prepare a quote and deliver your project.
- To contact you about your quote or project.
- To understand which parts of our website work well, and to fix what doesn’t.
- To measure which advertising and marketing actually leads to enquiries and projects, so we spend our budget well.
- To meet our legal obligations, including record-keeping for licensed building and glazing work.
Cookies and similar technologies
Our website uses cookies and browser storage:
- Our own website measurement stores a random visit ID for the length of your visit, and how you came to the site for up to 90 days. It uses browser storage, not cookies, and holds no contact details.
- Google Analytics helps us understand how the website is used.
- Meta Pixel (Facebook and Instagram), Pinterest and ArchiPro measure the results of our advertising and listings on those platforms.
- Embedded content from YouTube, Instagram and Elfsight (our reviews and Instagram feed) may set their own cookies when those sections load or you interact with them.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The website will still work, although some embedded content may not display.
Advertising measurement with Meta
When you send an enquiry, and later if that enquiry becomes a project with us, we tell Meta (Facebook and Instagram) that a conversion happened, so we can see which of our ads led to real enquiries and jobs. To match it to the right ad, we send your email address and phone number in hashed form. Hashing turns them into a scrambled code before they leave our systems; Meta uses the code only to match, not to read your details. We may also send Meta’s own browser and ad-click identifiers, and for a project, its value.
Meta handles this information under its own terms and data policy. You can control how Meta uses information about your activity in your Facebook or Instagram ad settings.
Who we share it with
We don’t sell your personal information. We share it only as needed with:
- Our service providers, who help us run the business and store information for us, including website hosting (Cloudflare), our enquiry and project systems (Vercel), email (Microsoft 365), job and quoting software (ServiceM8), and website analytics providers.
- Advertising platforms, as described above (Meta, Google, Pinterest, ArchiPro).
- Trade partners working on your project, such as your pool builder or landscaper, when that’s needed to deliver the work.
- Authorities or advisers when the law requires it or to protect our legal rights.
Storing information overseas
Some of our service providers store or process information outside Australia, including in the United States. This includes the hosting for our website (Cloudflare, which serves the site from data centres around the world) and our enquiry system (Vercel), and the advertising and analytics platforms named above. We choose reputable providers and take reasonable steps to make sure they protect your information.
How we keep it safe
Enquiry details and attached files are held in systems that only our team can access with a login. Files you upload go to private storage and can’t be opened through a public link. We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above and our legal record-keeping obligations, then delete or de-identify it.
Accessing or correcting your information
You can ask what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to stop contacting you. Contact us using the details below. We’ll respond within 30 days and may need to confirm your identity first.
Complaints
If you have a concern about how we’ve handled your personal information, contact us first and we’ll work to resolve it. If you’re not satisfied with our response, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or on 1300 363 992.
